The Cleaning Business Website Checklist: 23 Items We Audit Before Launch

The pre-launch QA checklist we run on every cleaning company website — the items most competitors get wrong.

Every cleaning company website we ship goes through the same 23-point QA before launch. We built the checklist over six years and 40+ cleaning company sites. Here it is, with the items in priority order.

Booking & pricing (the top 7)

  1. Instant pricing calculator on the homepage (bed/bath inputs)
  2. Online booking that takes a card hold, not just a 'request'
  3. Same-day booking enabled if you can staff it
  4. Recurring discount visible at checkout (15–20% standard)
  5. Cancellation policy in plain English, not legalese
  6. Service area zip code check at the top of the booking flow
  7. Mobile booking flow tested with one thumb on a 320px screen

Trust signals (the next 8)

  1. Bonded & insured badge with the actual policy number
  2. Background check policy linked from the homepage
  3. Cleaner photos with first names
  4. 100+ Google reviews embedded with real star ratings
  5. Guarantee policy ('re-clean within 24 hours' is industry standard)
  6. BBB rating if A+ (skip if not)
  7. Local business address (not a UPS box)
  8. Live chat staffed during business hours OR turned off

SEO & local (the last 8)

  1. City + service URL structure (/house-cleaning-[city])
  2. LocalBusiness schema with priceRange
  3. Service schema per service with areaServed
  4. FAQPage schema on the pricing page
  5. Sitemap submitted to Search Console
  6. GBP linked from footer
  7. Reviews schema embedded (real, not invented)
  8. Page weight under 1.5MB; LCP under 2.5s

The two settings most cleaners get wrong

Showing a 'starting at' price that's lower than any real customer would actually pay (it tanks trust the moment they see the real quote). And asking for too much information on the booking form — every additional field after the 5th cuts completion roughly 8%.

Frequently asked questions

Should cleaning companies use Booksy, Jobber, or a custom booking flow?

Jobber's booking widget is the best plug-and-play option. Custom is worth it once you cross $1.5M in revenue and need workflow logic the SaaS options don't support.

Is online instant booking worth losing the sales conversation?

For one-time cleans, yes. For recurring service and deep-clean upsells, keep a 'request a quote' option alongside instant booking — the larger-ticket customers want a human conversation.
