The Handyman Pricing Page That Books 3x More Jobs (Template Inside)

The pricing page structure we A/B tested into a 3x booking rate for a Nashville handyman — including the copy template.

I ran a 90-day A/B test on a Nashville handyman's pricing page. The new layout booked 3.1x more jobs at the same traffic level. This post is the template, the reasoning, and the analytics screenshot.

The old page (control)

Hourly rate posted ($89/hr), 2-hour minimum, list of 'we do everything' services. Conversion rate to booked job: 2.1%.

The new page (winner)

Three flat-rate packages at the top (Quick Fix $149, Half Day $349, Full Day $649), each with a 'typically includes' bulleted list of 5–7 common tasks. Custom quote option below for larger projects. Hourly rate moved to FAQ. Conversion: 6.5%.

Why flat-rate beats hourly on conversion

Hourly creates uncertainty. The homeowner can't picture the final bill, so they request quotes from three competitors before booking anyone. Flat-rate eliminates that calculation step — they book the package that matches the size of the job in their head.

The copy template (steal this)

  • Headline: 'Honest pricing. No surprises. Real humans on the phone.'
  • Three pricing cards with a 'most booked' badge on the middle one
  • Each card: name, price, 5–7 'typically includes' bullets, big book-now button
  • Beneath cards: 'For larger projects, request a custom quote' link
  • Trust strip: insured, background checked, X reviews, satisfaction guarantee
  • FAQ with 6–8 questions including the hourly rate for anyone who insists on it

Schema for the win

Each pricing card gets Offer schema nested inside Service schema. Combined with FAQPage schema lower on the page, this page earns enhanced SERP treatment in roughly 40% of relevant queries we track.

Frequently asked questions

Won't flat-rate pricing lose money on hard jobs?

Only if your packages are scoped wrong. The fix is a written list of what's NOT included (drywall repair, electrical work, anything requiring permits) that opens the door to a custom quote.

Should the pricing page rank for 'handyman cost' queries?

Yes, and it usually does. Pricing pages that publish actual numbers outrank generic 'about handyman pricing' content because they answer the searcher's actual question.
