Review response

A review response is the business owner's public reply to a customer review, shown directly under it on Google. Replying to every review — positive and negative, ideally within a day — shows readers the business is active and gives Google a fresh signal on the profile.

Positive replies should be short, specific, and name the service. Generic "Thanks for the review!" replies read as automated.

Negative replies are for the next customer reading, not the unhappy one. Acknowledge, don't argue, and take the details offline.

Replies can mention the service and area naturally, which reinforces what the business does and where.

Why it matters

Shoppers read replies to judge how a business treats people when something goes wrong. An unanswered one-star review is a louder signal than the review itself.

Common questions

Can AI write my review replies?

Yes, if the replies sound like you and vary. RapidLocal posts AI replies to 4–5 star reviews automatically and sends 1–3 star reviews to the owner first.

Should I reply to reviews with no text?

Yes. A short thank-you is enough, and it keeps the profile looking attended.
